This
Week At A Glance
March 8-12
Spelling-
No spelling unit this week. We will work on review
pages.
English- We will study adverbs this week. Test
on adverbs that describe verbs on Wednesday.
Reading-We have
begun our new novel, Freak the Mighty. Our assessments
on this novel will be different from previous ones.
Once we read a chapter or two in class, we will have
a class discussion on it. The students will be allowed
to take notes during this time. They should be reviewing
those notes each night. I may test on that information
as early as the following day. (This will not be a
lot to study. 10 minutes reviewing their notes, as
well as paying attention while I am reading and during
the discussion should suffice.) I will give advance
notice for vocabulary tests, but not for comprehension
tests. (Most of the graded activities will be completed
online, and we may have more than one graded assignment
throughout the week.) First vocab. test will be today
on chapters 3-6. The students were told about this
last week. I have also collected AR logs. Your student
will not receive another one until after testing.
They are still responsible for reading at least 20
minutes each night, but they do not have to reflect.
Math - This week we will be working from the
red text. We will cover rates, proportions, and probability
(Lessons 8.3, 8.4, and 13.1). Test Thursday. Morning
Math will come from iLeap book and a review worksheet.

Empires". Test Thursday will be open notes. We

pages pertaining to this chapter. (These will be collected
for a grade.)
