Dear Parents,
Thanks so much for the canned foods for the Thanksgiving food drive!
Also, we appreciate all of the leftover
Halloween candy that was sent in for our student store.
Finally, the 4-H club thanks you for sending
in the school supplies for the high school recently damaged by fire.
Social Studies Fair:
Your research paper is due Wednesday.
Please use your packet as a guide. The report must be double spaced.
Please include the following six parts:
Title page: Include title and date (date of fair) do not include your
name
Table of Contents: include all of the parts of the report and the
page in which they are located
Abstract: Must be less than 250 words double spaced /must be in third
person (no use of I, you, me, we us). Summarize the content and purpose
of the project. Describe the reference sources. Answer why the topic
was chosen and what you expect to learn. Example: The topic was chosen
because

will be rewarding because
Body: double spaced/third person. Write a summary of what was discovered
during research/ Answer questions or describe the solution to the
problem.
Conclusion: summarize the data/research and describe the general ideas
discovered during your research.

11/24 - 11/28 - Thanksgiving Break
Dear Students,
Math - We will continue Unit 3, Shapes and Angles. Wednesday we will
have a quiz over plotting ordered pairs on the coordinate grid. Then
we will begin an extensive study of triangles. Please continue to
study your multiplication facts. Go to freerice.com and study your
facts. You will need to change the subject to math.
Spelling - Unit 14: Dictation test on Wednesday; Multiple Choice test
on Friday. Four Activities will be due Friday.
Language - We will continue a study of nouns - Unit 2. Be sure you
review the rules for forming singular and plural possessive nouns.
Reading -We will begin reading Shiloh. You will have a comprehension/vocabulary
quiz Friday. The comprehension will be on the chapters we get to by
Thursday. Don't forget about A/R.
Science - Great job on your quizzes last week. This week we will begin
a study of endangered species and human impact on ecosystems. Can
you think of ways in which we impact our ecosystems in Louisiana?
Social Studies - This week we will learn more about the Vikings. We
will also study ancient African trade routes that lead to exploration.
Weekly Geography 51 is due Friday.
