Hello
and welcome to the sixth week of the second nine week
period. We hope that you had a wonderful week off. Thank
you very much to Mrs. Gregoire for coming by to help in
our classroom. Way to go Hayden who is now @ 200%of his
AR goal; to Noah and Joshua @ 75%; Ethan and Mackenzie
@ 50% and to Gabrielle, Ry, Baylie, Blair, Stephen, Drew,
and Judeana who are @ 25% of their goal. Please keep reading
with your child.
Our week:
Math: The students will be
identifying decimals, fractions and percents in addition
to performing basic computations. We will be adding money
and making change. A Math 4 Today assessment will be given
on Thursday. Homework will be assigned on Monday and Wednesday.
Spelling: We will be spelling
unit 15 words this week. A pretest will be given on Monday
and a post test will be given on Thursday.
Language: We will be editing
and writing another story using a writing prompt for homework
this week. Their final draft for this story will be due
on Friday. All of the students will be working on editing
skills.
Reading: 4th gr. - We will
begin a new novel, The Family Under the Bridge. This is
a heart warming Christmas story that the children are
sure to love. They will be discussing and responding to
what we read each day.
5th gr. – The students will be reading chapters
8 – 10 this week in Shiloh. They will be discussing,
summarizing and responding to what we read. An assessment
will be given on Friday.
SRA:
It is amazing to listen to the children read. Each of
them has truly made progress!

2 Flip book report is due (this must be done on an AR
book on your child’s reading level)
