Blank's Business
Week of March 15, 2010

Welcome to the first week of the fourth nine week period. Way to go everyone for bringing in your signed VIP folder – we had yummy doughnuts on Thursday morning to celebrate! Congratulations to Noah who continually read throughout the 3rd nine weeks to reached 150% of his goal! We also had Hayden, Ry and Judeana reach 100% of their goal, and to Drew, Gabrielle and Farrell @ 50% and Christian, Blair, Stephen and Mackenzie who are @ 25%. All 4th grade students should be working on LA Pass computer lessons. The due date is April 7th. This date is quickly approaching. If you have any questions regarding LA Pass feel free to contact me @ 674-4440.

Our week:

Math: The students will be working on division and geometry terms. We will also continue to focus on test taking strategies. Please continue to practice multiplication facts daily at home. A Math 4 Today assessment will be given on Thursday.

Spelling: We will be spelling unit 26 words this week. A pretest will be given on Monday and a post test will be given on Thursday. You may have noticed that the words are becoming more difficult so, please study each night.

Language: The children will work on editing skills. We will be identifying different transition words that can be used instead of “then” and “so”. In computer lab they will work on LA Pass lessons.

Reading: 4th gr. – We will be reading and responding to various short passages on a 4th grade level. At the end of the week the children will begin a biography project.
5th gr. – The students will finish reading Bridge to Terabethia. They will complete their work on a character trait web or a flip booklet of characters. The finished product will be graded.

SRA: Read every day!
