We broke up into groups and got digital camera. We went on a geometry safari of Lake Harbor Middle School. Then we took digital pictures of every example of geometry we could find. After we got our pictures back, we made a booklet out of them that asked questions about each picture. After we finished our books, our classmates took our books and went on our Geo Safari to find the answers to the questions.

Glossary of Geometry Terms

Angle - a figure formed by two rays that meet at the same end point

Acute Angle - an angle that measures less than a right angle

Chord - a line segment with end points on a circle

Circle - a closed figure with all points the same distance away from the center point

Cube - a solid figure with six congruent faces

Cylinder - a solid figure that has two faces that are circles

Diameter - a line segment that passes through the center of a circle

Hexagon - a six sided polygon

Intersecting Lines - two lines that cross at the exact same point

Line - a straight path extending in both directions

Line Segment - a part of a line between two end points

Obtuse Angle - an angle that measure more than a right angle

Octagon - an eight sided polygon

Parallel Lines - lines that stay the exact same distance apart

Perpendicular Lines - two lines that form

Radius - a line segment with one end point at the center of a circle

Ray - part of a line with one end point

Rectangle - a quadrilateral with two sets of parallel sides

Rhombus - a parallelogram with four congruent sides

Right Angle - an angle that measures 90 degrees

Semi-circle - half of a circle

Square - a figure with four congruent sides

Triangle - a three sided figure
