16-20
6th Spelling: We will
be completing Unit 15 this week. The test and all unit
activities will be due on Friday.
6th Reading: We
will be working on identifying mood, tone, and style in
short stories. We will review word clues that help readers
learn how to determine a story’s mood and tone. We
will also try to identify an author’s style of writing
.We will be reading selections in our reading series that
will help students recognize and state these ingredients
of a story. We will begin Unit 15 in Vocabulary and will
focus on words that relate to Changing (with suffixes)
The test on these words will be due on Friday.
Book Report Presentations
will be due either on November 20th(before Thanksgiving)
or on November 30th or December 1st(after Thanksgiving).
Students should be deciding on their style of presentation.
Language Arts/Writing:.
Students should be finishing their corrections on their
Turkey Tales and should finalize their initialed copies
by Friday morning so we can read the results of their
efforts in class. We are also reviewing how to write effective
five paragraph essays and will follow the guidelines known
as the Bing, Bang, and Bongo as an guide for writing essays.
The final copies of their first essay will be due on Friday
as well.
