Week of December 8, 2008

Our Christmas party will be next Thursday, 12/18 from 1:45-2:30. Parents are invited. Our room moms will contact you if you signed up to bring something. If you would like to send wrapped candy treats for the class, I will let them pass it out that day. There are 26 students.
Now is your last chance to order a LHMS yearbook for the price of $25. After the winter holidays, they will increase to $30. Go to the school website to order.
Please check with your child to see if supplies need to be replenished (crayons, colored pencils, scissors, glue, etc.). Our class is out of paper towels, if you could donate a roll or two that would be wonderful!
STARS Program continues each Wednesday until 4:45.

This Week’s Lessons:

Math: We will continue with multiplying bigger numbers as well as division. Please practice this at home. Please continue to study facts each night!!

Reading: We will complete Little House on the Prairie and test comprehension Friday.

Language: We will continue work on verbs.

Spelling: We will cover Unit 15. Words are in the students’ binder and the test will be Thursday.

Science: “What Are Animals?” and “What Are the Basic Needs of Animals?” will be tested Tuesday. We will continue to learn about animal adaptations from Unit A, Chapter 2. This will be tested next week.

Social Studies: We will continue work on the Northeast region of the U.S., Chapter 4. The Northeast states, capitals, and abbreviations will be tested Wednesday.
