Please remember that VIP papers go home on Tuesdays in the green folder. Please sign the paper located in the green folder indicating that you have seen your child’s papers. The papers can stay at home.

Your child is allowed to bring a healthy snack everyday. We have a break after math around 9:30 and students are allowed to have their snack and use the restroom at this time.

I would like to encourage all parents to attend Open House later this month. It is important to your children for you to see their classroom and understand what their day is like.

At this time we are doing the following:

Math – we continue to work on basic math skills

Spelling – all students have a “Spelling Choice List” in their folders. They

are to pick one choice per night for three nights per week as

homework.

Language – we are beginning to work on four types of sentences

Reading – students are taking the STAR reading test and we are reading

from our text books. Our work and discussions have been on

characters, setting and plot.

Science – we are learning about the needs of plants, planting a plant,

creating a plant cell and conducting a search for leaves

Social Studies – we continue to learn about maps
