This Week’s Assignments

Math: We will continue our study of data analysis with a concentration on line plots, mode, bar graphs and double bar graphs. Remember number relations, facts and place value will be a part of our daily math practice. You will be creating several bar graphs this week.

Spelling: Your words will be coming from unit 2, Davy Crockett Saves the World. Test on Thursday

Language: This week we will review subjects and predicates, compound subjects and predicates and using commas in a series. We will also be working on creating “Super Sentences.”

Reading: Our selection is Davy Crockett Saves the World. We will be learning the elements of the Tall Tale. You will have a vocabulary /comprehension test Friday. Vocabulary words will be given on Tuesday. You will be given instructions for a nonfiction book report today. It is due on Tuesday, August 31.

Science: We will be learning more about scientific inquiry. First we will make a rubber band book, we will learn the difference between observation and inferring, and we will begin to plan for our Marbelous Rolls Lab.

Social Studies: With what journey did the history of the Americas begin? We will learn all about Beringia and the migration of our “First Americans.” Questions regarding an in class timeline will be coming home on Wednesday. Please return them by Thursday as these questions are needed for the assigned timeline.

• Choose a book for Accelerated Reader
• Wear tennis shoes on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Reminders to Parents

• Graded papers will be sent home beginning Monday, August 23rd.
• You should be receiving STI passwords in the mail soon.
