Week of 11/17-21/08
READING - This week the students will read the
story "When Esther Morris Headed West",
pgs. 293-305 in the text. There will be vocab.
and comprehension quizzes on Thursday. This week
we will be working on the Comprehension Skill
of Fact vs. Opinion.
MATH - We will do some review work and then complete
assessments over Unit 2 - Multiplication &
Division Strategies this week.
LANG. ARTS - We have begun a Unit of Study on
Verbs.
SCIENCE - This week we will begin a very short
chapter on the study of Biomes and Water Ecosystems.
We will review and take the test over this chapter
when we return from Thanksgiving.
SOC. STUDIES - We will finish up Ch. 3 - Life
in the Eastern Hemisphere this week with our test
on Wednesday. We then begin Unit 2 - Connections
Across Continents with Ch. 4 - Spain Builds an
Empire.
SPELLING - Unit 14 words 3 times each in ABC order,
crossword, word search and text pgs. 87 &
88 are all due on Thursday. The students will
take a Multiple Choice quiz on Thursday, and the
written test will be on Friday.
