READING
- This week we will read "My Great Grandmother's
Gourd", pgs. 330-348. The regular vocab.
and comp. quizzes will be on Thursday. We will
concentrate on the comprehension skill of Compare
& Contrast.
MATH - We have begun Unit 3 - Geometry, Shapes
& Angles. We will finish up Polygons and then
work on Measuring & Classifying Angles.
LANG. ARTS - We have fallen behind on this writing
unit! The students will begin their Personal Narratives
on Monday. Their rough draft will be due, read
& signed by a parent, on Wednesday. Final
drafts will be due on Friday.
SCIENCE - This week we continue Unit F, Ch. 2
- Motion. We will finish up the Law of Universal
Gravitation on Monday. We will do some in-class
review work and take a different assessment over
this chapter on Thursday.
SOC. STUDIES - We finish Ch. 4 - Spain Builds
an Empire this week. We will make flashcards on
Monday and the test will be on Wednesday. We will
then begin a separate unit on just the Spanish
Explorers with a set of activities and maps that
we will continue after the Thanksgiving Holiday.
SPELLING - Unit 16 words 3 times each in ABC order,
workbook pgs. 85 & 86 crossword and word search
all due on Thursday. Their written test will be
on Friday.
