Mission

Apollo 15 was the fourth lunar landing. This was the first use of the Lunar Rover, which allowed more exploration of the moon's surface. The mission's primary objectives were:
xxx1. To explore the Hadley-Apennine region.
xxx2. To set up and activate the lunar surface scientific experiments.
xxx3. To make engineering evaluations of the new Apollo equipment.
xxx4. To conduct lunar orbital experiments and photographic tasks.

The team collected 170 lbs. of lunar surface on their mission. While orbiting the planet, the Command Module had two mounted cameras, one had an X-ray, and the other had gamma rays. These cameras gave a better look at the moon for scientists. The crew was David Scott, Alfred Worden, and James Irwin.
