Lemony
Snicket is a mysterious man; little is known about him. What is known is that
the man who writes under the pen name Lemony Snicket is in reality, 32-year-old
Daniel Handler. Mr. Handler formerly lived in New York City where he wrote two
adult books, The Basic Eight, and Watch Your Mouth. Currently Handler and his
wife live in San Francisco. He is Jewish, and has stated that the books he wrote,
"stem from great Jewish traditions." His books A Series of Unfortunate
Events and The Basic Eight are being made into movies. He plans to write thirteen
books in The Series
of
Unfortunate Events; what an unlucky number. Daniel Handler is also a talented
accordion and piano player in the following bands: The Magnetic Fields; The
6ths; The Edith Head Trio; and The Three Terrors.
