xxx On October 16 Lake Harbor Middle School's own Teacher of the Year, Suzanne Buras, was named 2003 Louisiana State Middle/Junior High School Teacher of the Year.
xxxThe announcement was made at a banquet held in Baton Rouge by the Louisiana State Department of Education and the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education in honor of the twenty-four regional finalists. The next day Ms. Buras was introduced to the BESE board.
xxxMs. Buras returned to LHMS to lots of hugs and to a breakfast prepared by the administration and staff. The breakfast was attended by St. Tammany Parish School Board supervisors and faculty members.
xxxLHMS is very proud of Ms. Buras and wishes her a heart-felt congratulations!

Our annual Family Art Night this year had as its theme "An Evening with the Stars." Whether it was celestial stars, celebrities, or American Heroes, much of the art focused on some aspect of "stardom."

The entire family was invited to attend to share in the visual, theatrical, and musical art of our students.

The Scholastic Book Fair was set up in the Library. A percentage of the sales enabled the library to add lots of new books.

Amy, William, Alex, Alex, Sara, Summer, and Samantha were the OWLETS representatives
